I did this to mine last year. The best way to do it is to get a razor blade gasket scraper (like a screwdriver with a razor blade on the end), some thick rubber gloves a couple of gallons of aircraft coating remover, an aluminum paint tray and a couple of brushes. this is some harsh stuff so don't get any on you. Have a hose nearby in case you do. you'll want to do this in a shaded well ventilated area, and get some heavy plastic tarp to throw down on the ground. It works real well, just brush it on a section, let is sit for about 20 minutes and come back wiht the scraper. you'll know it's done because it bubbles up. When you clear off an area, wash it thoroughly and dry it quickly with a clean rag or two, try not to use one rag too much otherwise you'll just wind up smearin the stripper around and you won't get paint adhesion. Once the whole car is done go over it with a total prep to get rid of any residue. This is only good for metal parts, and plastic/urethane/fiberglass will have to be removed and sanded. Aslo, if you know you have any bondo on the body, avoid that area and just sand it down. The bondo can hold in the chemicals and cause the paint not to stick or even not dry at all. You'd have to remove it all and have it done again. hmmm, lets see, I think that's all the lessons I learned the hard way, if you have any other questions, feel free to email me at the address in my profile.
