How about this???
I was thinking that it would be really cool if we had thirdgen.org static stickers. I don't like the idea of bumper stickers because they fade and all that jazz, but if we could get static stickers then maybe we would see some of the other thirdgen members driving around. I was trying to think of a way yesterday to be able to do them custom, like with each persons username on it or something but I can't think of a way that a printing press would do that. Maybe if we had a static sticker and then people could write in their screennames, times, features, or whatever else...
What would you guys think of that?

I don't think there's anything 'wrong' w/ all the information on a sticker, but the whole idea has much better chances of getting 'off the ground' if its just a simple static sticker, don't you think.
I think that'd be an awesome lil badge for our cars to have on. maybe a little 5"x3" oval w/ a logo or something ....
... just my two cents

thats true, it'll be a lot easier getting batch printing if we keep it pretty easy. If there is a lot of interest and I can get approval from everyone owning the website, I'll find out how much it costs for a batch print.
Just seems like a cool idea since I drive between Mass and NC and I always seem to see cars that are in awesome shape that look really familiar.
The good thing about a static sticker is that they are easily removable and can be put just about anywhere on the car unlike license plate frames. Furthermore, they will probably be a lot cheaper to make.

Ok, I was just thinking about the same thing today. I like the idea of static stickers. What about something small that could be put on the top of the windshield?? I don't want anything huge, but large enough to be seen. Maybe we could get some things done with some of the more popular colors. Like red, white, etc that would match the paint of most of our cars. Or maybe small stickers which could be put on side windows. Like where they put stickers when you get tint done. Just some ideas, but it would be great to have some id for everyone.
Check out the liscense plate thread. Also a great idea.

I was thinking about the sidewindow static sticker too, but would there be a problem if you roll down the window with the sticker on? Sounds like a sh*tty way to lose the sticker. Are they strong enough to take the abuse from the window sliding down into the door?

I think the small oval "badge" type sticker suggested by Jim 86 Bird would be a good idea. Toward the bottom-center, there can be a blank area for us to write in our usernames. The post with the thirdgen.org license plate frame idea is pretty good too, but I'm not sure if I'd put one on my car.

or you could place it in the back window just behind the c pillar. rectangular stickers look great there! just an idea. and there are so many vynil graphis companies that will make this sort of thing for under $5, check around.
