Painting Underside of Car
I have an 84 Trans Am . I want to paint the underside of my car before I install all my goodies I have bought over the winter. I will have everything out of the car including gas tank. I do not have much rust , as my car does not see winter, but there are a few blisters here and there. Especially where the exhaust is. I live in eastern canada close to the ocean and the salt and humidity is in the air . I see there are a few products on the market. I see there is a product Por-15, then rustbullet and also a rust-no-more. I am looking to see what you guys have used and how it turned out. Do you have to do the 3 step process to get the full benefits of por-15.The underside of my car is now a grey colour and I am wondering if you can use the grey por-15 on the underside without putting another coat over top to protect uv-rays. I can't see how uv rays get under your car, but maybe they do. How has your luck been on the underside with either of these products? Anyone know any good supliers at pretty good prices or do you have to buy this stuff direct. Thnaks for any info

Re: Painting Underside of Car
I believe POR15 makes a product specifically for painting your underbody. It's highly recommended that you do all three steps, and a clear coat won't be necessary unless you plan on rolling the car over (in which case, you have more important things to worry about).
I used the 3M undercoating from AutoZone to touch up my underbody and it came out nice.
Theres also some stuff called Lizard Skin that you may want to look into. A bit on the expensive side though.
