I bought 2 newly restored gta rims. and I bought 2 used and ugly rims. My question is: The newly restored rims have a nice clear coat on them, but the used ones will not have the clear coat on them after I refinish them. Should I put clear coat on the used ones or take the clear of the newly refinished ones? Also if I took the clear coat off the newly refisihed ones, would I have to polish them again?

 

i took the clear off my iroc wheels, they where in good shape. I think they are brighter without the clean, also i use wheel cleaner and every time i wash them they look like chrome. I h8 clear coat on these wheels.

 

Ok so you took your clear of and you didn't have to polish/refinish those wheels? Thats what Iam worried about. If I put the stuff on to take off the clear coat and it comes out that I have to refiish these wheels

 

Does anybody have any pictures of wheels without the clearcoat compared to wheels with clearcoat?

the first pic has a good image of my wheel, thats with no clear coat and no polishing. And its dirty in that picture.

 

the clear coat is a duller finish compared to no clear. But without a clear you have more upkeep

 

Its actualy not hard at all i found the best way to keep em looking good, use spray on wheel cleaner when you wash the car. Its in a silver bottle at any advance, car quest, or auto zone its called eagle one all wheel & tire cleaner
After you wash the car, spray all the wheels then come back around and wash em by hand and wrinse em off. Look perfect when your done.
