Tire Sizing Question©

I have an 89 RS© The car is lowered about 1 1/2 inches© I just got some 87 style 16" IROC wheels and I am wondering what series tire to get© I was thinking [Rear: 245/50's] and [Front: 225 or 235/50's]© Would this leave too much gap between the tire and wheels well? Should I go up to 60's or 65's? What were the stock tire sizes? I don't want to look like a monster truck©

What 16" combo are you guys using on your lowered F-bod's?

Thanks for you help guys©

I think a 245/50-16 would work well with the factory 16X8 wheels and 1.5” lowering. This is a picture of my old RS with 16X8 wheels and lowered about 1.25”.

I agree. 245/50/16's all the way around is what it needs to be. No modification is necessary either. It will look right and it will handle really well.
