i bought a set of 82 T/A tail lights off ebay. i want to use some sort of plastic polish to clean them up a bit (even though they're in really good shape). i was looking @ the mother's plastic polish but then i saw the powerball with the power plastic polish. any good? what does everyone else use? will the polish hurt the tint on the lenses? (they're the tinted T/A lenses thats why i got them- i hate the regular red ones like i have now)

p.s. i saw the thread on polishing tail lights but they were the later 80's ones that have the smooth finish. wondering if it was the same for the early model grooved ones.

suggestions?

a black foam pad on a buffer at 1200 rpm with some regular compound or glaze wil do wonders ..the key is the soft foam black pad..

I think McGuires has something called PlasticX that is used for things like that. Check this like to their plastic forum: http://meguiarsonline.com/forums/24/ShowForum.aspx
