thats gonna look really nice with a silver/black striped car
i say go for it
that's the exact same color combo i've been wanting for my car since i got it. I just can't be bothered to go through a color-change when i have no reason to even strip my car down to that level since there is no rust or damage to it.

What kind of prep did you do and what type of paint? I think it looks really good.
I got everything from autozone, i bought paint stripper says its strong enough to remove airplane paint, almost melts the paint off in layers, then i wiped the rims down with cleaner, then taped everything off and used duponts wheel/rim paint then coated the with a couple of layers of acrilic enamel (i know i didnt spell that right) thats about it took maybe 10 hours from start to finish.

just curious how long plain paint will last on the wheels. I'm trying to decided on touching up the gold on my wheels or just send them out and have them powdercoated again. I've seen people spray paint there wheels and it never seems to last long.
I like the fact the powdercoat lasts for ages but I don't know anyone who will do mine and how much it will cost and if they can even match the correct gold

improvement. wouldn't mind having a pair of those to widen and powdercoat to use as a set of track wheels.

Looks good. should last a fair while since it is wheel paint. I've worked in a powdercoating plant and have seen guys come in with wheels that they rattle-canned with cheap-o paint from Wal-mart. maybe lasts a year or two before the elements start in on them.
However powdercoating is the way to go if you cam afford it. done right, it never fades and is fairly chip-resistant.

Looks pretty good texan-rebel. I'd like to repaint mine in the orginal color. It's an 88 so the whole wheel was painted from the factory. Anyone know the color code?

SHARP!!! ................................ 88ragtop, there is "Wheel Paint" at Pep Boys (maybe even Adv Auto, Napa, Etc etc) but they have 4 or more colors or "wheel silver/grey" check it out, plus the paint holds up well to wheel cleaning chemicals

sexy ive got a buddy who actually used the same black on his atv rims, amazingly enough with as harsh as he drives it held up very well.
then again he used a full can of wheel clear on each tiny little atv wheel 2. i think i may have to try that idea on a different rim and style combo though hadnt thought of it till now.

They look good. I had the same idea with my rims. Paint the inner spokes black and leave the rest polished. Good job.
