what is it about these manifolds? I'm trying to polish my edelbrock TPI base manifold and when I sand out imperfections more come up. I've seen factory manifolds done real nice yet this thing seems like its going to be a never ending sanding project.

So what do you do to really get these areas flat? I've got all the rough casting off it yet there is areas that seem like they will never sand out.

So do most of you guys just polish and hope it's not visible? I know the plenum and runners will hide most of it anyways but I'de still like it to be real nice.

You know another question I have is this. How and where could I have the gasket surfaces machined so I can verify this manifold will seal perfectly to a buyer?

well, made good progress today bought some cone shaped sanding drums for my drill and started going to 320 grit on a few places on the manifold and those place took on a sort of stainless steel look and got pretty shiny.

I'm hoping the rest isn't as hard as this manifold has been maybe emery can cut out the few remaining bad areas.
