Scratch Remover, and paint buffing help
Scratch Remover, and paint buffing help
Which type of scratch remover do you guys prefer? And Ive got swirl marks in my paint (from terrycloth- i never wash/wax my car in direct sunlight!). But Ive got some lines and scratches in my car- what you'd expect after 9 years of wear.
I dont wanna walk blindly into murrays and tell em my car is scratched up and i want it to be shiny. They'd laugh

Meguiars is great, just go to a place that carries it and they will have it clearly labeled as a scratch remover, the turtle wax canuba(sp?)is great for a shine too,i have used the industrial compound paste,it works good,i think turtle wax makes one, when i go out to the iroc i will get the brandname and whatnot so you know what to get.
Any thing that says 3m on it works the best because that is what the pros use and it does work i have tried the scatch remover its a bit expensive(about 6or7$) but its worth it they also have swirl mark remover.

Another vote for 3M here. Use Perfect-It, and if that isn't abrasive enough try the Microfinishing compound then the Perfect-It. Afterwards use the Imperial Hand Glaze for a deep shine. Then wax (if you are using Zaino, I don't think you should use the glaze).

Well I work in a body shop and what you are seeing is probably just normal wear and tear on a paint job that is washed normally and is a daily driver. I trust meguiars for everything I do and even buffed my car with meguiars paint cleaner, I dont recommend buffing though it usually does more bad than good. I usually just use the paint cleaner then the polish and wax. keep your towels clean and good luck.

Hmmm, I really want my car to shine like new. I want it to blind people as they walk down the street. I think I may be drifting away from performance and more towards style.
If you tell a girl your car runs the quarter mile in 13 seconds flat, she'll be like, "oh cool.". But if your car is the shiniest car in the parking lot she'll be like "hey can I have a ride, baby?" Know what I mean? My girlfriend and I had this talk :P She told me she'd rather see my car look "shiny and bright" rather than "go fast enough to kill yourself twice". Although I do plan to drop a 350 in her as soon as I get MONEY.
I'll be 17 on June 28th, and this is my 1992 Firebird daily driving car, and I live in Michigan. Probably by graduation in 2002 (hehe I've got a year to do this) my car will have a 350 in it. That's also as long as she's not hurt.
Well I managed to buy one of the most expensive-est car audio systems in the school. I bought my car, I pay gas/insurance, my system wasn't free ($750), and everything else on/for my car is paid by me. I'm not a spoiled brat like 2/3rd of the school. Survey in the yearbook said only 31% of kids pay for all of their car. Me, sadly, included.
Back to the topic- I want my car to sparkle like the day she rolled out of the factory. I want her to shine like glass. I want her to stop traffic without a collision ;P
