i am soo excited the IROC is looking soo good!!
ok so i went to talk to the body guy (JEFF) because he needed to inform me that i needed new Seals and window sweeps. so i went there. checked out what i needed, then we started talking and he said it was perfectly ok for me to stop down and watch or help him and the other guy in the body work, well i didnt really want to help(if they mess up they have to fix it, if i mess up i have to pay to have it fixed) so i went down after they got off work and most of the other guys cleared out, they had the car torn apart, and the front and rear plastic were almost all the way bare, so i talked to him for a bit, then sat and watched. the friend i brought with and i just stood around asking questions and checking out what it takes.
i took some pictures since he said he hadnt at all yet today. then i got out a sander and started a little sanding in an inconspicuos(sp?) spot. man that car is looking soo straight, i cant wait till its done.
but after talking and watching he called me over to talk about the fender we decided to stick with, he showed me some rust that had accumlated in the bottom and cleared a hole in the metal, he talked to me about what i was gonna do with the car once i had it back, and we decided to order another GM fender so that makes both fenders NEW GM pieces, and everything else is getting perfectly straight also. this car is gonna look soo nice. i cant wait till its done.
so now that i work at LUJACK's the car lot in town that sells everything from LEXUS TO CHEVY TO HYUNDIA, basicly no FORD or DODGE, or GMC. thats about it. i got a job in PREP dept, but there is gonna be an opening in PARTS next fri, so i am gonna try and transfer. then i can get a better look at stuff. and i know more about parts then i do about most stuff, and i dont wanna wash cars everyday. anyways so i get all parts at about 2/3 the list price so i ordered almost $500 dollars worth of parts.
new door handles, weatherstipping, window sweeps, fog lights, antenna base, IROC back bumper decals, and the 5.7 TPI decal on the back bumper, and new rocker Decals IROC-Z
oh well i thought i just might share this since i am soo happy that my car is gonna be done, and almost MINT again!

What color did you finally decide on? Last I remembered, you were thinking about orange, but that was a couple months ago.

hey mcconahay i decided to go with the GM RED from Dupont. and i decided my next 3rd gen will be orange and 1991 Z 305TPI 5spd. i cant wait! but that is a while away. this car is getting all my attention now! and for a long time

hey now thats a good idea, i will have to try that next time. but for now i wont. he said it will be done soon. as soon as i get all my damn GM parts in. takes forever when they come in wrong. luckily since i work for the dealer i get to see whats coming before it gets here, then just ship it back if its wrong.
