Axle/Gears: stock
fix corrosion on rims?
i have a 1992 camaro rs with stock alumium rims the protective coating wore off in some spots i want to know if there is any you can fix the build up and stop it from doing it again got any ideas?

yea guys..... my firebird.. same way. i talked with a guy around my area that has a black 1LE and stripped and just re cleared his. i dont know what u could really use to strip the rim though... maybe its worth lookin into, maybe not lol

I had this problem on my old corvette. I stripped the wheels with a product called Busch clearcoat remover. A lot of work (about 20 hours), but that also included polishing the bare aluminum once it was exposed. Once they looked perfect, then I clear coated them. After a while though, I eventually sent the rims to Corvette Mike in california and had them chrome plated for about $650.
