hey all i have been debating on what to do with my stock gta wheels, i was just wondering if powder coating them black would look good, i have searched around and have not found anything. would black gta wheels look good on a flame red gta???

Leave them gold. If the gold piant is faded or brake dust if baked on then just have then redone in gold. Theres just something about a red GTA with gold wheels on it. I speak from experiance on this because I had a red GTA and I ended up painting my gold wheels black and to me, it just ruined the whole look of the car.

Also, having them powdercoated is going to cost you a few dollars. I would suggest just having a local body shop spray them them after you do the leg work of prepping them for paint.

oh and remove those black moldings and replace them with the thicker ones and paint them the same color as the body. Do not remove the factory emblems either. Leave the car as it came from the factory. It looks perfect that way.

thanks for posting, i appreciate all opinions because I really don't know, i like the look of black rims however i like the gold. I'm going for a sleeper look for the car, i been searching around for a red gta with black rims with no luck if anyone has a picture it would really help! Also which moldings are you speaking of the black ones running across the doors?

I wish I had a pic of my GTA with the black GTA wheels but I dont. As for the moldings, yes, I was referring to the ones that run along the door. Im not sure when GM changed over to the larger body colored moldings 88 maybe, but it if you look around at some pics of members' cars here, you will see which ones I am referring too. I think it gives the car a more upsated look and you dont notice them as much since they are the same color as the car. As for the sleeper look, just leave it alone. the gold wheels and the red/marroon paint look perfect. I wouldnt change a thing.its not too oftern you get to see a nice clean stock looking fbody driving around anymore. Everyone changes them with pant and wheels. It it was my car, I would leave it stock looking on the outside.

yea at first i thought it would look good but since i cant seem to find any pics and from opinions i have gotten from friends and on here i have become really discoraged from doing it. i think im prob gonna leave them gold and them one day refinish the gold if it ever needs it. now i just gotta get tires

You have the darker red so I will say leave em gold but if you had the bright red I would say go black
