Hood Supports

I'm ordering my cowl in a few days... I've heard that you need weaker hood supports to avoid cracking or causing problems with a fiberglass hood... is this true? if so where would I find weaker hood supports at?

I have heard that, but have used the stock ones at full pressure on my 'glass hood since 1992 with absolutely no problem. I guess it depends on your hood manufacturer. I suggest you post the brand and model of hood here and see if anyone with that particular hood has any suggestions. One of the most common things I've heard suggested in the past is to get old almost worn out ones from a wrecking yard and use those.

Alright, Thanks. I'm planning to go with an Unlimited Products hood. Did you use a ASCD hood?

No, mine was made in a small run by a local fiberglass shop. Unfortunately no longer available.
