Re: Firebird Headlight problem

Check with a dealer or parts store. I think there is a relay on the firewall that controls the power to the motors.

Re: Firebird Headlight problem

heres how to check the relay turn on the head lights and see if the manual lift ***** are turnning if they are it is the plastic pieces in the drive assembly first are these used or rebulit motors, i assume you just swapted out the whole assembly when you replaced the motors did you open the gear drive assembly there is a large gear that runs on the worm gear of the motor inside of that large gear there is another plastic piece which is where the headlight raise and lower arm screws to. if you remove the plastic piece that fits inside of the plastic gear there are three plastic ***** that gm used to connect the two incase something went wrong the plastic ***** would break well after 10 or 15 years these things crumble, and the two are not connected anymore allowing the motor to turn but not raise the headlight, and if you can raise and lower them without turnning the manual lift **** they are not connected if the motors are bad and still connected to the raise and lower arm you could not raise or lower the light without turning the manual **** you can use 3 nuts i can't remember which size i used it was either 1/4 inch nut or a metric one take the assembly with you to the hard ware store when you go. pm me if you need more information i will try to find some pictures
