I don't have full coverage. It's only bad on the hood, everything else isn't as bad.

If you don't have a lot of dents you might consider one of the new "paintless dent removal services". Since hail many times doesn't chip the paint and really just stretches the metal, the paintless method has had good results shrinking the metal back into shape bypassing major repairs.

When I bought my car I had some slight hail damage all over. Most of the spots were smaller than a dime, and because the car was yellow it did not show really bad.

To take care of the problem I got myself some glazing puddy, It is a fine grade bondo is all. I sanded the hood really well, only down to the primer (dont go thru the primer cause from the factory it is usually better than aftermarket primer. Since they bake it.) Of course that also depends on the year and where your car was made.

Do not try and sand out the dimples of the holes yet, only try and find them when you sand. What should happen is you will sand to the primer and everywhere there is a small dent you should leave paint color, and as ling as your car is not gray you should find amm of them.

I then took some Steel whool togive the bondo something to adhere to and then I began to fill. Sand with a coarse sandpaper and go finer. wET-SAND THE surface, wipe it dry and remove the sanding dust with a cleaner towel.

take water and smear it on evenly to make it shiney and look for the inperfections. Repete process untill you have a smooth hood.

Prime the hood, and wetsand, wipe it clean and then wipe more wather on the hood, look at the reflections again to see if you missed any small dents or for abnormalities. Repeat until you have a smooth hood.

Prime, and Paint. Its alotta work, took me a few days of messing around to get it perfect, Now the car looks better than it did off the line beause of all my work.
