Yet another rim question

Ok, I've got some bad curb rash on my 92 rims and some parts that got pretty badly scuffed... I was wondering if I could use something like a file to smooth these out, or would that screw something up? These grates are around the place where teh tire meets the rim and one is on the side of a spoke and they are too deep for sand paper.

Depends on the Scuff. If it's missing a pretty good amount of the actual wheel, it's doubtful. If it looks like a small scrape into the wheels lip or something, you might be able to. If it's a few MM deep... it's doubtful, or will be very hard. just try sanding the edges to make it less noticable.
