Chrome IROCS with Black Accents pics inside

I have been having a hard time dealing with all the chrome on my new 17" Chrome IROC's. So today I did a little test. I added a stock black center cap and black stripes in the indents in the spokes (I just used black electrical tape for the test stripes).

The front wheel is the test wheel with black accents and the rear is the all chrome wheel. I need the opinions of third gen org members to help me decide all chrome or chrome with black accents. Please cast your votes!!!

well I'm not a huge fan of chrome so I'd go with the black accents.
btw what color is your car? I'm thinking of painting my t/a something like that.

Stripes for sure. It breaks up the chrome a little and looks WAY better.

I agree, the black stripes and center cap give a good contrast against the chrome.

Definetly looks way better with the black accents, to break up all the chrome. My bro has polished Irocs with black accents and it looks real nice.

Definitely go with the black accents

I'd also see how it looks with black accents on the back of the spokes and in between the spokes like on the original rim

I like chrome. However on those wheels in particular, it looks like theres something missing. Without it looks a little pale....

Sorta like a hot blonde with a pale face with no makeup. lol

Definatly the accents, but I'm guessing bodycolored accents could be good aswell. Any accent is better than no accent though.

As with the blonde and her makeup.

Re: Chrome IROCS with Black Accents pics inside

I like the accents. I've never liked chrome IROC wheels.

Maybe try covering the inside part of the spokes with tape too. I don't know what to call it.. but the other part of the wheel that is painted from the factory. Just an idea.

On a side note, I wish someone would make 17 inch IROC wheels that are just like the stock ones

Re: Chrome IROCS with Black Accents pics inside

i also have 17 inch chrome irocs and was thinking about accents. since you have posted a pic it helps. heres an idea i have been throwing around:
usings some construction paper, i was going to make templates for the spokes, and between the wheels. get a sheet of vinyl decal from a graphics store (shoudnt cost much and you get what ever color). using the patterns and an exacto knife, cut out and stick on the wheel. if your going with black ,use the black center caps and black lug nuts.

i may just start this project in a week or so. ill post if i do.

I am suprised so far that no one has voted for the all chrome. I do llike both but looks and especially the black out. But and know alot people are running all chrome wheels on their cars.

I think the color of the car has alot to do with it. The chrome Irocs look different on other color cars. I personally love my 18 inch chrome irocs and I use the original GM center caps to.

I think the black accents look hot on your car. It just breaks up the monotony a little bit!

I never thought of that, but it is a very interesting observation. And now that I think of it. It seems that the solid black, white, or more muted darker colored cars do a lot better with all chrome wheels then say the brighter colored reds, oranges, etc.

I think you are on to something. If the car has a very "bright" paint job the all chrome wheels become a little to much with the "bright" paint scheme. I think that is why most people I see with "bright" paint colors often run a polished wheel or a black accented wheel instead of all solid chrome.

My wife (who could care less about this) just told me that with the solid chrome wheel on my bright paint color the car lost some of its race/hi performance look and started to look more like a toy hotwheel car. But with the black accents it regained its orginal high performance look.
