TIRES AND RIMS

I'm like completely redoing my car. I'm putting 4th gen seats, in my 3rd gen. New carpet, floormats, headliner, paintjob, tires, rims. I am wanting to get a paintjob different that others. I want it to be black though. I'm thinking of getting different colored ground effects, (i'm doing the interior red and black) and I've seen grey ground effects, should I get my car painted black with red ground effects or would that look like $#!+ ? Also, I am getting new tires front and back at the end of the summer so what tires should I get and which rims? I'm new to this and this is my first car and I want it to look awesome when I eventually get it finished. Please help!

Take a look at my car,

TO start off, do not paint you ground FX a different color, it looks like SH*T (PS thats what GM did on a lot of their cars) For looks, Id go with an SS, or 3" Cowl, 17" SS, ZR1, or Y2K, Sniper, or RHT wheels. Id get a catback with some nice tips (hooker, or flowmaster), get the windows tinted, lose that IMO gay grill and get a chevy bowtie one w/o those ridges,.... and thats about it! lol nice car though, what kinda engine do you have??

Painting the GFX another color only looks good in certain combinations, and in most cases don't look any good with chromed wheels.

I'd say just go through the reader's rides and see what you like and start off of that. It's your car, so you should build it to how you like it, not by asking everyone what looks good. We have a pretty diverse group of people here and there's always a disagreement on what looks good. This also holds true when you come back and say how's it look.

Let your car be an extension of yourself and don't let anyone sway you from what you personally think looks good.

I have a V6 under it now. It runs good. Down the road I'll drop somethin else in. I'm 16 and this is my first car. I know absolutely $#!+ about cars lol that's why I'm at this site and message board to learn more.

Be prepared. Black paint is absolutely beautiful when done right. Make sure to choose a quality body shop and that they use the basecoat/clearcoat process with a minimum of 3 coats of clear. Make sure they color sand and buff your car on completion.

Afterwards you will need to keep the car cleaner than some because dust and dirt scratches will show more on a dark color and use correct polish cloths for waxing because black can show the most minor swirls even from a polish cloth.

I'm thinking my "two tone" doesn't look THAT bad........
