well, i upgraded from 15x7 to 16x8, and i love them. if you've got the cash, then 4th gen 17x9 rims look great, see www.slponline.com but for these, you will need to get a set of spacers (another $300). another option is to go with ROH wheels, www.skulte.com these are designed for third gens and don't need spacers. i strongly recommend that you don't go any larger than 17" cause it looks way out of proportion. i can't say about the clearance problems, but that can be figured with the wheel's backspacing, the size spacer, and the size tire.

good luck with the third gen

I have the SLP 17x9 on my 91 Z and they look bad a**. I mounted 275/40 all the way around to save money on rotating. With the chrome, they catch all the attention. This will be your best bet.

The 17x9 chrome went for 275 a piece. The tires were Kumho 712. they went for 120.

I got these wheels delivered today. I haven't mounted them yet but they still look bad a** in the box. They are 17X8 and I'm gonna run a 255/45/17 tires. I just told them I need them for a 3rd gen and the told me that they were available in a 20mm offset which if very close to what we need. And get this, they were only 129each, brand new.http://www.jdwheels.com/images/Five-0.jpg
