painting my rims..tips?
Clear coat is coming off. I want to paint the black. As far as I understand all I must do is use an electric sander, use some thinner, base coat, and hi-temp black spray. should I use a clear? is this a good process? anything i'm missing? what spray cans would you recommend?

duplicolor paint works very well, first start off with a paint remover(aircraft remover brand, jasco paint remover works well) then get all the gunky paint off then wet sand if needed, clean with laquer thinner or mineral spirits or alcohol(whatever u have lying around) wash it off with water, let it thoroughly dry, mask off areas you dont want painted, if your doing it while the tire is on a trick would be to use that hand stuff like orange degreaser or lava degreaser, and put it on the tire part that shows, that way if u do get paint on the tire u just wipe off the hand cleaner.
youll wanna go with very light coats, anything to thick and youll drip, also a nice epoxy primer will make it last longer
