Just need to know

Ok i was watching Horse Power TV today on TNN and i just caught the end of it. Well anyway they were at a import car race. Ok well here is my question. Why do front wheel drive cars have wheliee Bars. How do you stand up a FWD car. Well i was just wondering i know this post is kinda off topic please dont close it.

PS.How much horse power do those stickers add? He He.

If you transfer all the weight to the rear of the car a front wheel drive will loose traction. I assume the wheelie bars are set very close to the pavement to stop the front lifting and loosing grip.

Stickers are 5-30hp each depending on the type and size.

good for an extra 5 hp if they're all the same color, 10 if it's yellow

the wheelie bars actually work as lift bars. they basically left the rear end of the car up off the car, so as much weight as possible is over the front wheels. If you ever get up close to them, you can see that they hydrolics on them that lift it up with the flip of a switch.

Chuck Everly is right. I have seen shows about that before, and the wheelie bars are only set about 1" off of the ground so all of the weight cannot be taken off of the front of the wheels. I even saw one car thad some type of hydraulic wheelie bars that when activated, pushed into the ground, actually lifting the rear end up about 3". After 1 event, those bars were made illegal. I can't imagine how much money was put into that set up alone. I bet someone was mad after they were made illegal...LOL! That will teach those darn import drivers to throw wasteful dollars at those cars...hehe!
