cleaned up the bird

I've neglected my firebird over the last 3 years after I got out of college and bought a new truck. Well I finally bought a house that has a third detatched garage so I have room to keep it and work on it. Before it was at my parents house and under a car cover but in the drive way as I couldn't have an extra car at the condo I had. Needless to say the paint was nasty when I got it to my new house.

I had to use bleach to kill the mildue in the paint.

I still need to wax it this is the first step of the 3 step polish/wax kit from maguires.

I should of taken before pictures but here it is after it was cleaned.

I had to re paint the hood, just spray paint for now. I will have it striped and repainted shortly.

I've ordered a new kit to repolish my wheels its amazing how fast the wheels will degrade just sitting there.

I've got a new steering gear on order as it has too much play in it and I can't adjust it out and get the steering to fill right.

When I get that I've got to get it aligned and new tires and then I can drive it safely and start getting the parts for the LS1 swap.

Not too shabby for sitting for a while.

Re: cleaned up the bird

Thanks, I drove it enough to keep the engine and other seals from drying out. I didn't have time over the storage time to keep it cleaned up. The fuel pump also died last year and well I didn't want to replace it in the driveway, but it now has a new GM pump. I am getting the itch to do the LS1 swap if I can manage to set aside the money. I've picked up a set of formula wheels so I can take my time refinish the wheels in the picture.
