will tires rub?

ok i just went and ordered my tires(damn im broke now ) for my rims. the rims are 17x9 1/2 centerline scorpions. tires are Yokohama a520's 255/40/17 in front and Nitto 555's 275/40/17 in back. i am not really concerned about rubbing in the back because i know it fits, but in the front i "test" fitted the car with the tires that are allrady on the rims which are 275/40/17, and they will rub. since i am using a tire that is not as big, should i still have clearence problems?

Naaahh..it won't rub if you got the right backspacing.

see i dont know what the backspacing is...i bought them from a guy who had them on an 89 formula. how do i measure the backspacing? the 275's that are on there now will rub if you try to for example do a u-turn. and man i just paid almost $800 on tires

you can go up to 255 size tire on the stock back spacing w/o rubbing...it'll be cool.....you have to get different backspacing to get the 275's not to rub...

some of my favorite quotes:

I do not blame stupid people for being stupid, what i do blame them for is for not asking smart people for advice. When ever my mom asks for help, i tell her, i'm the one who knows what he's doing, not you, don't question me, just do what i tell you to. if stupid people would just realize they were stupid, and consult a smart person for advice, before they went and did something stupid and got pregnant/got someone pregant, this ****hole of a world would be a lot better. - adam corola
