Re: NEW PAINT !!!

IMO i think it would look out of place. I have just never been a big fan of that type of two tone. Pluse i think there are probably more creative ways you can play with the paint combo to make it stand out and be unique.

Re: NEW PAINT !!!

I agree with the headlight pockets being black, makes the car look tougher, but for the gxf i would match the body. There are better ways to pull it off. Painting your wheels Black or buying black rims wouldnt hurt along with a window tint. then you'll have a good amont of blk trim with the blue. Just my .02

Re: NEW PAINT !!!

yeah man, black gfx are a bad idea imo.My white 91-z had black gfx when I got it.
I didn't like it at all.
Not sure if the wing would look good black either but hey,its your car and if you like the idea, who cares what others have to say.
If you haven't seen any pics,my thread is in the body section titled (Gonna Save it)
My car isn't the same color as yours but hey,you get the idea.

Painting the GFX black will make them virtually disappear.

Re: NEW PAINT !!!

In my humble opinion painting the ground effects kit a seperate color from the body makes our cars appear dated. My '84 Z28 is that gunmetal type gray metallic with a silver ground effects, and I just don't like the two tone. My wife thinks I should keep the original gray color but color match the ground effects and paint the hood indentations (stock Z28 hood) and headlight pockets black. I think she is right, the two tone look to the body and ground effects just makes them look old.

Re: NEW PAINT !!!

I am not a fan of two tone paint on thirdgens. However the headlight pockets should be satin black but don't gloss the pockets or it won't look satin. There have been several threads on just this issue. do a search and you will see.

Re: NEW PAINT !!!

I think keeping the body and GFX the same color is the best idea, may be painting the under side of the spoiler satin black would be cool. Keeping the top side of the spoiler the body color but painting the under side and pillars satin black would be subtle yet different.

Re: NEW PAINT !!!

hey man if you are wanting to do something that is subtle but cool i would recommend the original blue on everything and then do the traditional hockey stripe down the side in white. That would look awesome and would be very unique for a third gen. It was on the older camaros and is now on the 2010 camaros. I think white would be som much better than black.
