STARTING ON PAINT JOB!!
I have not posted much on here, I'm starting on the paint work this weekend
I started out with a heavy cut evercoat buffing compound, did fine cut, swirl remover...went inside to clean up went back out to put polish then wax on well to my surprise I had million needle size white specs on the car, so called good friend my who works at a detail shop ask him whats up with these white specs........
He goes to tell me the clearcoat has pin holes in it from where the clearcoat popping up and he says you put all the wax on or polish the white specs will just pop up, the only way to fix it is recoat the clear, hell if I recoat the clear may as well paint it. So thats what going to do...
i started sanded all the spots I can with 6" orbitor with 220 grit today, took all the clear caot off down to the old paint PITA, working on the gfx and bumpers sunday. I'll post pics of progress as I go.
The color I'm painting on cat is DUPONT's HOT HUES BLACK CHERRY, with
5 or 6 coats of DUPONT's 7500S Chromaclear, with first coat of clear will have HOUSE OF COLORS orange fine metal flakes, second coat of clear with have purple fine metal flakes, I have did a patch panel with this on it, looks awesome
I'll post pics on sunday so as I get time. I don't think I need to paint the door jambs or rear hatch area because the car is black. under the hood as been painted flat black last week, when pulled the old motor out,
I get back on here sunday with pics of progress. later jeff
