I am looking for a few suggestions on how to clean the wheels to make them shine best, and somewhat easy.

I just bought a 1989 Camaro RS for 1000$ and put some work to get it on the road and drive it up to PA from FL. Now im looking at cleaning it up and putting some work into it. The RS has a IROC-Z Hood, and Rims. Just looking for a few friendly tips on how to get it clean and looking decent. Also any information on a cheap paint job would be appreciated. As it stands im looking to sand down the whole car and repaint it as it is because the car was well abused before it landed in my lap.

Take a look at my cardomain page, it has the basic steps to restoring your IROCs. Also note that i did my IROCs by hand. A dremel tool would help tons and give you a better result then mine.

It's worth it but remember that a good job takes some time so don't rush. On the topic of the paint job. If your going to have someone else do the paint taking everything you can apart from the car like bumpers, GFX and so on, it will lower the cost of a over all paint job. Good luck

 

91RS your ride looks awesome. I like the new rims but what 3M polish did you use on those Iroc's, I've got the 18x8 chrome's on my car but the chrome is in rough shape thinking about taking it all off and polishing tem up like those.

 

Thanks! I used 3M Mag & Aluminum Polish on my IROC's. The aluminum stays shiny for a while. I only need to re-polish them every six months. Good luck with your rims.
