Dashpad help needed

Car went to paint, so I removed most of the interior so no overspray issues. I laid my perfect dashpad upside down on the carpet, not thinking that the carpet was relatively new (2 years old) and had no wear in this room. I laid pad upside down so the weight wouldn't rest on the ends that bend down. Months later, when car done, the dashpad now has some places in it where it looks like the black has faded - all I can think of is some kind of chemical reaction from the carpet with the pad. Tried cleaning with just Windex, as well as ArmorAll, but nothing helped so far.

Anyone have any ideas of how to restore the black lustre to the pad? I was thinking shoe polish, or adding Ritz dye to some Armorall, or something - but I haven't a clue. I also thought of Back To Black product - but it's just a deoxidizer, and doesn't add any color, or polishing compounds - just de-oxidizes.

Any thoughts appreciated!

Re: Dashpad help needed

I would recommend using SEM Landau Black interior paint.
