COLOR SIDE MARKERS ???

i have been wondering if anyone has colored clear side markers ? the yellow ones only look good on a very few colors . the clear & smoke colored ones look good on alot more colors . i have a set of clear from my white 89 ( R.I.P. ) . they glare out even more than the yellow on my new baby . she is a 91 ultra blue metallic . i'm wondering if anyone has tried to color the clear to match the body color ? if so please give details & results . THANKS .

For a show car?

The laws are pretty specific on what color the light has to be (amber front/red rear) so colored ones would get you pulled over pretty fast, on the street.

Clear/smoked lenses do not change the color of the light bulbs. But if you have "colored" lenses, then obviously the light coming from the bulbs will be a different color.

Think again.......

Smoked lenses can reduce the brightness of the light output, causing the owner to get a ticket for dark lights. There is a minimum light output effectiveness allowed. Too dark of lenses can get an owner a ticket. Just ask my wife.

Re: COLOR SIDE MARKERS ???

it shouldn't be too hard to do, if have clear/smoked to start with. try that testers model paint ? the stuff some guys have used for the amber delete on the rear lights ( red color) it is translucent and lets the light out, would think it comes in different color's.

or you could go with good old clear with a few drops of your particular body paint color, and just coat till you get the desired effect.

I hadn't heard of this law before. Jeez, why does the law want to take away all the fun?
