4th Gen rim question

Just a simple question, How well would fourth gen Z28 16x8 rims fit on an 87? I already tried the search function but came up empty handed...

I ask this because in a few days I may be buying a complete set, but if they don't fit I don't want to waste my money.

Any info or pics would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks,

Re: 4th Gen rim question

I found some info..

CAMARO 82-92 15x7 5x120.7 12x1.5 70.3 L
CAMARO 93-UP 16x7.5 5x120.7 12x1.5 70.3 H

Same lug, same stud size, same hub diameter, but the offset for 82-92 says L... And H for 93-up.

I am clueless to what that means lol

Also i read that the front wheels on a 3rdgen are 0mm offset, and the rear is 16mm.. Correct?

By what i can gather 4th gen rims "should" stick out a little farther...?

Re: 4th Gen rim question

Yes, front and rear wheels have different offset. Thats why rear wheels are branded "rear". Based off my knowledge spacers are required when running 4th gen wheels. You may want to PM Doc for more info. He has some on his 84. This is the link to his public profile with a picture of the wheels on the car.

Why didn't you just PM me?

Your gonna give me a big head...

2" adapters, all the way around, or 2" front, 2.5" rear, to give the rear a more muscular look & still under the fender lips.

I recommemnd the 2"/2.5"...The looks are well worth it.

Re: 4th Gen rim question

I'm running 4th gen z28 chrome 16" wheels on my 88. Using the 2" adaptors. Had them on about a year with no problems.
