A question about stripes
In the (hopefully near) future, I'm planning to repaint my '85 Z28. Right now it's dark red. and looks good, but has a few scratches, signs of rust (forgive me, I couldn't afford a winter beater last year), dings, all the usual stuff. I've already decided to keep the color, but I'd like you guy's input on what to do about the stripes. It's silver along the bottom, and has the four stripe treatment above that (black, two shades of orange, and then dark red). The car is all original and nearly brand new looking. A couple of people who don't know cars have actually thought it was brand new.
What's a guy to do? Keep the heritage of the stripes, the or go with the better looking all-one-color look of the IROCs.
Thanks in advance.

Personally, I don't like the stripes along the bottom at all and I also don't like the different colored ground effects, but those aren't too bad. If it was my car, I would either paint it all one color and go with no stripes, or go with heritage stripes. But its your car so do what you like. Just make sure you are sure before you paint it, cause it'll always bother you if it looks bad.

I'd go with the solid silver myself, and if you want an accent color I'd use blue heritage style racing stripes. Or you could go with all 3 (racing stripes, different color gfx and botom stripes)

Bright red, white or silver heritage stripes! Beautiful color combos and not many people with 3rdgens have it. o and no stripes on the bottom or dif. color gfx.
