Polished iroc rims.. upkeep??

Polished iroc rims.. upkeep??

there not looking good as they once did.. i did the whole deal with polish with a drill and mothers power ball.. i take it i may have to resand them.. in this case what is the procedure??

no way! Get some of the Mequires metal polish.The rims on my wheelin truck werent polished for like 2 years and the Meguires made them shine like new.Then I wax them to keep them nice.

Try Mothers billet polish and you'd swear they're chrome. Its what i used on my sled and WOW. Or you can use the mag and alluminum polish by mothers.

I think what happens is that over time, they oxidize. I use White Diamond, and it removes the oxidation - just wipe it on, let dry some, and wipe it off - the rag turns black with oxidation, but the aluminum shines really nice after.

I've got 3 of my rims 1/2 done (did the flat parts, still want to get into the insides) - got to get off my butt and get the 4th done. But for the work involved, I've been considering just getting them chromed - 20 hours of sanding per rim vs. $500 to get chromed - the scale just kinda teeters but hasn't rested on a decision yet
