Show room paint for $1,300 ????

Yup, thats the quote i got today to have my WHITE Formula painted BLACK. He said it will be basically show room condition. That price includes door jams, hood, trunk hatch. He said they just sand the existing paint smooth and just base coat clear coat it. Im a little concerned here. I want a damn good paint job, which this guy claims he can do I've seen his work, and its good, but how good will a paint over look in a year or two? What do you think guys...
thanks..

You might get a decent paint job for that but hardly "showroom" quality. I would say you're looking at $2500-$3000 for a really good paint job.

For that price I have a feeling that when you pop your hood you'll still see white. A "show quality" paint job requires removal of all ground effects, lights & trim, and in most cases certain body panels. The entire engine and all related crap including the heater box, wiring harness, brake booster, etc. all need to be removed to paint the engine bay properly.

Just make sure he clarifies his "show quality" statement and make sure it includes all of this.
