44mm +offset = what backspacing?

44mm +offset = what backspacing?

looking at a set of 4th gen wheels for my 92RS but they have a 44mm offset.Does anyone know what this equals in inches.They are 17x9.5...thanks,i know i will need spacers

To find the backspacing from the offset, you have to know the width of the rim.

width / 2 - offset = backspacing

That's actually more like a -44mm offset, so you'd be adding rather than subtracting (neg + neg = pos).

(9.5 / 2) + (44 *.0394) = x

4.75 + 1.7336 = x

6.4836 = x

So a 6.5 inch backspacing.
