1985 Z28 pics after some paint work
We have owned this car about 6 months now, and have slowly been fixing up some minor issues. (we bought the car from original owner with 100k mi, but it had been sitting for the past 5 years) it was in great shape, rust free, with original paint and interior, but just needed alot of TLC. We pulled all of the ground effects and painted them black. (they were originally gold, but we didn't care for that) anyway, finally got around to snapping a few shots.........

the paint looks a bit swirly in the last pic, but other than that it looks good. Never did like the gold myself

yeah, that last pic didn't turn out too well, weird lighting and relflections from the leaves etc. actually the paint is in pretty good shape, not swirly. thanks!

ok, i dug out a couple of "before" pics. these were taken the day we got the car (not great pics). the louvers were on the car when we purchased it, and we removed them also........they are for sale btw.

Sorry, I think the car looked better with the gold ground effects. Matched the wheels and stripes nicely. Now it's just another plain black car.

Re: 1985 Z28 pics after some paint work
well, to each his own i guess........i respect your opinion, but we like it ALOT better with the black ground effects. it looked a little too much like it was ready for one of the smokey and the bandit movies in our opinion. we still have the gold stripes and gold Z28 badges, and it seems to match the wheels nicely. thanks, rick

It looks a lot better with the effects black. I really hate two tone, Im glad you got rid of it. The car needs to be buffed out, then a nice set of wheels and tires and it'll be ****..
I would probably take off those gold stripes too...

the louvers are in great shape.....include all the mounting hardware. would let them go for 80bucks plus shipping/packing fees. i guess we should put an ad in classified section.

I love it! I hope you plan to keep the stripes and wheels, it looks great as is. If you want to go with a larger wheel though, a set of gold IROC wheels would look good too.

two-tone or all one color...as long as it is clean they are all awesome rides. and as long YOU like is all that counts anyway
nice ride....how's the engine bay doing
mine was white with gold stripes and wheels didn't care for white

Re: 1985 Z28 pics after some paint work
smog pump really isn't that big a deal....but if you plan on adding headers, bigger exhaust, better intake system...it all adds up.....
It really just depends on what you want to do with your car.....if your just gonna keep it clean and maybe some chrome pieces...leave it stock.
If you plan on building for speed...think it through.
as someone mentioned earlier....better wheels really makes a difference, that would be the first thing I would do...but hey thats just me
agian nice ride dude and dudette
