I can't say for the 82-85 style, but I think any other center piece for the tailights will fit with the obvious exception of the 91-92 TA/GTA.

I'm a lil' confused by the use of "tail light cover" in your first sentence though. Are we talking about blackouts or just the tailights and the center piece?

Okay...well yes they will interchange. But...if you have the '82-'84 tail lights(with the vent louver thingys)..then it wont. If you have the regular '85-'90 tail lights...such as the grid style then any year will interchange. I changed my '83 louver tail lights to the grid style. Now I have the red GTA center. Before that I had the regular one with the white bird in the middle and under it says PONTIAC. I am willing to sell it. I was actually going to attempt to make it light up red..but it is just laying around. It will fit in the middle of any TA/firebird with the '85-'90 style tail lights. It isnt in the best condition...but it is in good condition. I will look for it...make an offer. If you have black seat belts...or can get your hands on a set...then I will trade you this center piece plus cash for them. Let me know. Thanks.

Oh yea..it is from an '86 TA...but keep in mind it fit my '83 with the '85-'90 grid style tail lights.

Actually, the 82-84 lined(?) tail lights will swap with the 85+ lights. I did this and the only thing i noticed is that the lock cylinder is recessed maybe 1/4 inch. Also take into account that the donor 86 car had the automatic pulldown motor, and my 82 had the slam hatch, but I'm not sure if that would make any difference. Everything else
lined up properly though.
