Installed my GTS blackout taillight covers today. Quality seems great, let's just see how long they hold...

In the background of the last pic you see my fathers ford t-bird..

I will be removing the gts stickers when i know i am keeping them...very hard to take off so i don't see how i would return them...

Nice car and blackouts man. Suggestion: (i think you'l find it worth it)

Use a blowdryer, or some wd40 and a fingernail to remove the GTSs from each blackout. it'll come righ off easy ans look good afterwards.

Just what i do (did) with my blackouts, only an opinion, your ride still looks badass

Thanks.

The blackouts were $68 total from autozone cause i had to order them. great service cause i ordered them saturday morning and they came wednesday morning.

I went to autozone cause i had a gift certificate and Summit was sold out of the blackouts.

Once i'm sure, im taking the stickers off.

UPDATE, gonna go snap some pics of the car at night time with various lights on.

Yes i know she needs a paint job :-)

-you can see the dumb velcro things that hold it on! oh well

I checked the summit magazine, and it says for Firebirds "Except Trans Am" Why is this? They should work.

Because the blackouts aren't an exact fit for the TAs. It's no big deal though, I test-fit my old blackouts that i gave to KZad on my TA an they'll look fine when i get another pair. Should work for all us TA people

It says Blackouts Except For T/A is cause the T/A taillights is some kind of natural Blackouted and if you put a set of Blackouts on it the light intensity should be less...its like puttin blackouts on 82-84 ...they dont need...

Those are part # GT-034 (sorry, i had put 35 on accident in post -Edited)

i would have used the paint but i was unsure of the durability and i did not want to "ruin" my tail lights if i had messed up.

The reason why i asked if the blackout were GT-035 is the gt-034 seem to have a curve to them. I'm hopping that GT-35 are flat panels, because my 83 have the flat tail lights.

those were the same rims you had on there i just blacked them out the best i could. Basicly you have a rare rim, only sertain car came with 15" diamond spoke rims like yours, most common rim on a car like your were the slanted star rims. Most of the trans ams of that year came with the 16" rims in the diamond spoke or a slanted star like the ones on the 84 pace car.

I'm pretty sure those rims aren't rare at all. They're a dime-a-dozen here around Hamilton. Any 85-90 TAs without WS6 seem to either have those or the 15" version of "formula" style rims.

Just my observation
