prepping
Ok, basically I want to get my car painted but just like a maaco job.. everyone says prep it myself first... whats involved and what do I do? thanks.
You can do all of the sanding and primering yourself, but you better tape it too if you dont want all of your trim painted along with your car.
I think i saw i guy in a maaco oufit at the local home depot buying out the spray paint section the other day

look in the tech articles there is one on paint prep, and do a search on either this forum or "body and interior" forum for the words "painting" and "yourself" by author Nightcruzer. I listed all the steps I used as well as some others who painted/prepped their cars themselves.
