To paint or not to paint
Just got my project on the hoist.
All the drive train, suspension bits, k-member and fuel/brake lines are removed.
The question is, with a reasonably sound factory painted underside (minimal rust spots) do you paint over it?
I think that a cleanup with some degreaser should give some pretty good results however I admit I like the looks of some of the freshly painted undersides I've seen in these forums.
At the same time, I'm partial to the factory paint job.
Keep in mind that I'm installing Spohn SFC's and there will have to be some touch up of the stitch welds on the sheet metal.
Thoughts?

Re: To paint or not to paint
If your goin through all that trouble it would be ashame not to fix the rust and just spray over it. I would go under the car and sand and grind off what rust there is then put some rust preventative paint over it. Or else itll just creep through and bubble up.
good luck!
good luck!

It would be a shame to paint over what looks to be in excellent condition for the sake of a few problem areas.
I'll evaluate further once I've finshed removed ALL the undercoating and do a thorough degreasing.
