Y2K Corvette Rims on 3rd Gen

I've decided to get a set of 17" year 2000 corvette wheels as my daily driver rims for my 89. I'm going to order them from here:

www.performancewheeloutlet.com

The wheels are 17x8.5 in the front and 17x9.5 in the back. A polished set comes out to $972 (not including shipping or tires). They come in a 4th gen fbody offset / backspacing, so I will be using adapters. I plan to order 2.25" adapters on the front and 1.25" adapters on the rear from Skulte Performance Designs (http://www.skulte.com/).

Wheels, Adapters, Tires, and Shipping (killer shipping to hawaii) should put me at around $2100 complete.

Does anyone forsee any problems with this setup?? I dont plan to race on this set of wheels, its just gonna be the daily driver set. I also plan to drop the car a little with eibach pro-kit springs (1 inch drop), but I dont think there will be any rubbing or bottoming out problems. What do you guys/girls think??

Thanks for any input.

Duh, forgot to ask what tires everyone thinks would work the best? I was thinking 255/40/zr17's in front and 275/40/zr17's in back. Does that sound about right?? Could I possibly run 265's in front and 285's in back? Wheels are 17x8.5 in front and 17x9.5 in back.

thanks again for any input.

What size spacers did you order? I have 2 1/4" spacers on both front and back, but then again I also have the 18's in back. Anything less than 2 inches and you might be rubbing.

Hey i just got my new rims and tires on. I went with 17x9.5 zr1 with 275/40/17 all around. I used 2.25 in front and 1.25 in back with no major problem. I do have to make the inside of my fender up front larger cause it rubs not too bad when accelerating and turning. The back I have is no prob.
