Dunlop or BF Goodrich

I want to get raised white letter tires for my Firebird. According to Tire Rack, Goodyear only makes outlined white letter tires. Currently, I use 215/65/15. Someone suggested using 235/60/15 instead (Goodyear does make raised white letter tires for this size). Would I have problems with wheel well rubbing in this size? Oh yeah, and Dunlop or BF Goodrich?

Funny, I read the post a few times and I don't remember him asking for opinions.

I don't understand why people rag RWL tires so much. To me, a 15" wheel leaves way too much plain, black ugly between the wheel and the car. RWL really breaks up the huge butt-ugly sidewall. Now, I'd never put RWLs on a newer car, because it would be out of place, but any sports car from the 80s or older that has 15" wheels can look great with RWLs.

Anyway, back to your question. I have 235 60 R 15s on my 86 Sport Coupe and they don't rub at all. As long as you have wheels with a stock offset, you'll be fine.

Thanks Jim. Is there any problem having 235/60/15 in the back and 215/65/15 in the front?

Nope. I had that combo on my Firebird, and I've actually still got the wheels and tires in a shed waiting for a rainy day.

What do you think? I only want to get 2 new tires (really don't have a lot of money now). Should I get 2 BF Goodrich Radial T/As at 235/60/15 and put them in the back and keep 215/65/15s in the front or should I get the Radial TAs at 215/65/15 so that all my tires are 215/65/15?
