Re: HOK paint question
I used it, turned out great, but that's the painter, not the paint. The HOK paints are very high quality, and very expensive because of it. I used the Kandy Teal, and I love it, but would never do a candy color again because there's no fix for any damage later - since it's candy, you can't 'touch it up' like non-candy colors - there's no way to blend. On a trailer queen, sure! On a daily driver (or in my case a weekend cruiser with no garage), no.
But, as with any paint, I'd talk to my painter first, and see what brands/styles THEY are comfortable with, and get them to make you a shopping list. I know with the candy, you just can't stop halfway because you ran out of paint - it has to be sprayed on time, or it's ruined.
If your painting yourself, I haven't a clue - I've never painted anything above the lawn chairs myself. Good Luck!

Re: HOK paint question
Make sure you look at the paint chips in the sun or under a halide light to really see the color combo you will be spraying on the car. I did a Oriental Blue over Orion Silver that looked like painted glass when done. Just make sure the car is really ready to be painted. Any flaw, dent, low spot or other body work miscue will be easy to spot. When you spray this type of paint job, with a top color over a base color it will be very tough to match the paint if you do get into a minor fender bender. Some real pros who who use HOK paints all the time might be able to match the paint, but that is a chore in itself. Don't expect it to happen, IMO.
TGP sells HOK paint in all sizes. I would check with them to see if they have what need. Here is a Forum with folks who do mostly custom paint work and use HOK a lot. Good source of information about HOK paint.

There is a woman named Ande that is on that board and does great free hand airbrush work. She did this guy for Halloween last year. Great work, IMO.
