Anyone know what hood this is??
Hello,
New to the site, new to 3rd gens.
I spotted these pics on a thread in the wheels section, but couldn't figure out whose car this is, or what hood is on this car.
Just had a question: what hood is on this car?? never seen this style before. I have a 91 Z28 that's a full on road race American Iron NASA car, but came with a 4" cowl hood that I can't see around on the road course.
That hood pictured on the #28 car has what looks to be a heat extraction vent on the front that could be made functional (if it isn't already) and used to my advantage to dissipate the air pressure under the hood at speed (and let the hot air from the radiator get out of the engine bay easier).
So, anyone know what this hood is? Where to get it?
Sure would appreciate any help on this!!

That is a carbon fiber hood made in Japan. Do some searches on that, and you'll find out lots about it.
With the right connections (in Japan and/or import connections) and a big enough wallet, you could get you one.

Thanks for the info . . .
So ridiculously high $$$. Not for me I guess. I'll guess I"ll just continue on modifying my race weight 4" hood. Surely I can learn to fiberglass.

Yeah that looks like it would be fiberglass. I like that carbon fiber hood. I say if you really dont need the cowl then get this other one. The cowl is a lot more common than than the one's posted above.
