Re: different color engine bay
I think thats a dead giveaway of a cheap paintjob. Why do you think most people dont change the color of their car when they repaint? Its expensive to do it right.

true true, and to do it right is time consuming if you want to change the color, because you need to take the engine out.

blacking out the engine bay is done quite often too, so are other low maintenance colors for various race applications

Re: different color engine bay
My car is all black so a different color engine compartment would look dumb. On my 79 TA the car was maroon with a black engine compartment and I was happy with it.

[QUOTE=//<86TA>\\;4745531]thats the most up to date pic i have. The air pan is custom made, i designed it and a friend fabbed it up for me at work. Its 16ga aluminum. Mounts to a scoop try mount that bolts under the carb. It was an attempt to force the engine to breath from the cowl and not the engine bay.
QUOTE]
Any interest in you or your friend creating one for me? I have the VFN 4 inch cowl hood on my 91 and looking for something similiar.

sorry, but no. I can't weld aluminum, and he is out of work hurt right now.
besides, it was made to fit my car, engine setup, hood ect. Unless it was for the exact same setup, there would be little chance of it fitting properly.
