opinions on tailights

hey,
i have a '89 iroc and i'm not sure what to do with the tail lights...
the car is white and is original but i dont' like the look of the amber white and red...
As of now i know of 3 options:
1. paint them red.
2. black outs
3. clear

the clear would probably look good, but then i'd have a riced out iroc, and thats not cool.
the black outs look good, but are they worth the trouble of getting pulled over and paying fines often (btw, i live in jersey)
painting them red looks awesome but i've only seen it on a red car, how would it look on a white car, and how difficult is this to do?

thanks for your input!

go with blackouts, i've had mine for a few months and never been hassled about them. they really make the car much cleaner looking

I thought about the same thing for my car... my car actually came with blackouts when I bought it. I think I might put them back on just to complete the look of the car. I did a few edits on my car, just to get an idea of how the lights would look if they were a different color... I know my car is blue, but it might give you an idea.

I'd have to say that I like either the red/white or the blackouts the best.

1.paint them red = something different..
2.black outs = nice clean look
3.clear = if you wanted a honda you should have bought one..hehe

I'd go with the blackouts myself..They look great on my IROC.

I awhile back I seen someone who had it painted with a product called "NITE SHADES" and then took it to a paint shop and had them spray a clear coat on them.I think It looked awsome. Has anyone else done this too?

thanks to everyone!
i decided to look through the archives and there were some GOOD convincing pictures...
although the white would be original, and would probably look good on my car, its *****, and not for me...
i will most likely (hopefully) paint my tailights with the translucent candy red this weekend...if i remember...
then i will post pics...
THANKS AGAIN!
