Somebody needs to inform the owner of that car that there were only 13 Confederate states...not 20. If there had been, the war would have ended a lot differently!

I live in Rhode Island. And, my car is absolutely adored by everyone. Just win a couple races.... that proves that you take care of your car and you're not a *******.

I'm 17, and i've been pulled over by the cops about 15 times in about a year. The look on the cops faces is priceless when they see me wearing an abercrombie shirt, and clean cut hair cut. I think they're expecting a guy with a ****** and a dirty wifebeater.
The only bad thing is that I was wasn't wearing a shirt one time i got pulled over.... and just for that, i'm just hurtin' us thirdgens. I"m sorry for that.

I use to get called a ******* because my car was always dirty. But thats becaues its impossible to keep a black car clean on a freakin 4 mile long dirt road. What always got them was "how much money have you spent fixing your car back up" I havent spent a penny on my ford truck, "why do you have so much primer on it?" Uh thats because I'm getting ready to have it painted. "Its been like that for a year now" So me having a brand new paint job with some dirt on it while a primer and rust ford isnt considered *******

Let's face it people.......

All it takes is one person on COPS to get pulled over in a beat-up camaro with no shirt, really drunk, and a long ******, then get caught with crack in the center console...........

Then preceeding to make a fool of himself on national TV, meanwhile the camaro or firebird is in the background the ENTIRE time.....

And it's all done for.........the thirdgen camaro becomes a ******* car.....

If you want to avoid your ride referenced as ******* this should remedy a solution.

1. Do not grow a mullit. Any car that a mullit haircut guy is driving is automatically considered *******.

2. Put any rims on your car that are larger than 15's. I have never seen a ******* car with any wheels larger than 15's.

3. Don't use Nascar stickers on your ride and don't have a Chevy **** on Ford sticker, or a confederate flag sticker.

4. Don't drive around in an all primered car, especially that flat black primer.

5. Lower your car, ******* cars are always at least at stock height.

I really don't like to sterotype people, but sometimes people will stereotype themselves by accident. I live in Southern Illinois and when I go for long drives, I pass threw small towns that populations in the hundreds. In about 90% of the towns, this is what I see:

8 cars in the front lawn, at least one has a hood open. Maybe one of the cars actually works.

There are lots of toys, dishwashers, dryers, and any kind of appliance scattered near the cars.

The driveways are on a hill in the woods somewhere with a dirt road entrance

Barking dog chained up to an old water heater

Lots of abandoned shacks and buildings

Lots of pickup trucks that are completly rusted out, the grand daddy of all beaters, that are around 30-40 years old.

Most males under the age 40 have mullit haircuts

I'm sure these people in these rural country towns are nice folks, but they are so isolated. You try not to sterotype, but when you see that kind of stuff consistently in the same type of setting, its kind of hard not to.

Small towns with less than 1000 people that are not near a major city scare me. I get an Erie feeling everytime I go through one, its like a ghost town. I never dare to drive through one at night. I always feel that if my car breaks down in the middle of the night in a woody area with very few people near by, something is going to happen to me. I guess I watch to many scary movies.

I hope I did not affend anyone, If I did, I apologize.

LOl, my uncle has 28 cars in his front yard Every one he gets "oh I'm going to fix it up" yeah freakin right you work on if for a day and give up. The sad thing is that I live 800 feet behind him, so it embarrasing to have my friends come out to my house.

17 inch or higher chrome or polished wheels will always help.

And making your car faster then theirs helps too.

I can't see any pics of you car, but a sweet lookin paint job helps too.

Wow, my old thread is back from the dead . I think that my car's "*******" connotation has left it ever since I took my car up to the track this summer. Granted, a 14.4 second ET isn't fast by any means, but it really shut up a lot of the kids who go to my school. They drive their fartpipe Civics and non-turbo'd 3000GT's (yes, you read correct) and think they're so great. Bah, I hate today's youth generation.

I've since polished up my stock IROC wheels so they're not dull and ugly anymore. Since that initial picture of my car didn't load (from like a year ago!) here's another. I still don't consider it "****** material" by any means.

I absolutely love the Third Gens, just like almost everyone else here. Unfortunately, not many other people in my town (Murrysville, PA) seem to think that way. Around here, my car is considered to be a "******* car," even though it is in great shape. No matter what my car looks like, I get stereotyped. What I'm asking is, what can I do to my car to avoid this evil title? I plan on getting my IROC rims polished; hopefully that will help with the situation. Right now my car looks completely stock on the outside.
two words for you: "Louisville Slugger"

seriously though, the cars have a bad stereotype (camaro and the firebird), you can either ignore it or buy another car, not really much you can do to get away from it, no matter what you do....

1. Avoid stickers such as:

Ain't Skeered
No Fear
Bad *** Boys Drive Bad *** Toys
Calvin Pissing Stickers
Bad Bowtie

2. Indian "Dreamcatchers" hanging on the rear view mirror should be avoided.

3. Do not spray primer every time you get a scratch.

4. No "Fergit Hell" license plates

Thanks for the compliment. I guess that this original thread was from so long ago that it was too old to update my sig. Unfortunately, I am no longer planning a ZZ4 swap as my old signature states, due to monetary issues. I have to pay for a Jeep and keep my Camaro emissions-legal.

Well, the ZZ4 in the 90 Formula is Emissions legal. Thats with SLP runners, lingenfelter intake, and 1:6 rockers. Too bad you gotta pay for a jeep.

Right, the ZZ4 can definitely be made emissions-legal, but if I spent the money on that engine I'd probably go carb. Legality might still be possible, but it's a long shot (and I have no experience with tuning carbs).

Too bad for the Jeep? Haha, never!

Well hey don't feel too bad guys. Some people are just totally ignorant. I was cruising downtown with a friend of mine (Mustang guy, sad to say, but he respects Camaros and Firebirds). I had my dad's 2000 Trans Am 6 speed, and we pulled up next to a Pontiac Sunbird convertible with a couple cute girls in the front and two guys in the back seat. I kinda raced them a little bit from a light and the girls got all *issed off yelling at me that I should only race "the ones that are racing you" and then the guys started saying stuff like "hehe nice plastic tires" and "are those rims real?" (car has 16" polished 5 spoke rims and the original Z rated Good Year Eagles on it). My friend then said to the guys, "Hey, at least we're not sitting IN THE BACK SEAT!" and we drove off laughing. So it's not just third gens that get made fun of. Around where I live Third and Fourth Gens get a lot of respect, aside from the occasional ignorant kid IN THE BACK SEAT. :sillylol:

-Paul

(for any of you who were wondering, this is the car those guys IN THE BACK SEAT were making fun of )

Where I live (Norway) there arent really much of these thirdgen cars, or american cars whatsoever. Okey, there's a fair amount of chevy and ford vans, voyagers and so fourth. But passenger cars are seldom seen in comparison. Thats because taxes are in favor of big cars, over 3500 kg's, but the passenger cars are taxed to hell.

Like 15 thousand $ in tax alone if I where to import an 1987 trans am. The 2002 TA where about 120 000 $ here.

So here most people go; " Holy crap!! Wat friggin' car is that!" Wow! That's SOME car! AWsom!"

In the first two weeks I had my car, thats the responses I got anyways. My mother thought the car was kinda "flat" Lol...And a friend thought it would use too much gas.

But my father who doesn't care about cars at all, thought it was real cool, and said that the next time I where to visit, "be sure to come in the Formula!

The down side to it, is that I had to pay 15 000 $ for it. (87 formula) Okey, low milage( 50 000 miles) and very nice, but still a fair amount for such an old car. Cant have the cake and eat it too!

In Houston, yes, there are alot of rednecks, but I even get compliments from the "upper class" people. No one has called my ride a ******* car. I even got a compliment from the owner of a 2002 Z06 (that I killed) in a 0-120 red light race. After he caught up with me he told me I had a killer ride!

So I say........f*ck 'em. Wear that ****** proudly!!!

Yall know this whole ******* thing is really funny. I'm one of the biggest rednecks you'll ever meet. I live in GA. I have long hair and full beard, 21 years old.

Here's the whole truth. Most rednecks and all the ones I know dont drive junk or rusted out cars. We buy junks and restore them. Down here in the south out in the sticks like I am the only things to do is fish, hunt, shoot guns, shoot pool, work on cars.

You see the rednecks out here in the baddest, fastest cars cause we build them. Yeah most is in primer. My hot rodded 73 chevy truck is in gray primer. My dad's 84 camaro is in black primer. It's much better to prime it after fixing dents and or rust holes than just spot prime the fixed part, and then yall should know this sometimes the money aint there for paint so it stays in primer for a while. Us rednecks care about power and speed 1st then looks, so we build for power and that eats money quick.

The deal with blocks yeah thats true. We (me and my dad) has 4 cars in our yard up on blocks. The reson is we are working on some of them, dont want straw and grass to grow under the others and rust out the floor pans. Plus buy that many sets of jack stands and ramps is too high, and for longer term use blocks are safter. On dirt yards after a good rain jackstand sinks and leans over. Blocks dont

Around here you see the younger preppy looking kids in new 4th gen camaros, new mustanges. The hip hop, rap thug type kids in imports that they riced out. Rednecks in all kinda of cars. Most have a daily driver and a weekend car. Running around on the streets out here there's everything from 6-71 blown 55 chevy to a 39 ford truck with a 502 big block to gen 2 and 3 camaros, chevelles, and alot of novas all driven by rednecks.

Like I said i'm a ******* and not ashame of it one bit. I'm very proud of it. My cars aint rusted or junky. I got a 84 camaro parts car, 1988 camaro daily driver project (almost done), 78 trans am NHRA pro street project car (it was very rusted out when I got it), 2wd 1973 chevy truck hot rod (use to be a daily driver but cause of the 4700 lbs weight it drunk too much gas, so I got the 88 camaro).

My dad has a 84 camaro semi daily driver with a 412 hp 327, 87 olds front wheel drive (bought for 500 bucks to drive as he built is camaro), and a 71 monte carlo that needs a full resto, anlong with a 2wd 88 toyota truck that blew up and now a small block chevy v-8 is in the works to do in it.

So you see the whole its a ******* car is just b/s. Us rednecks builds good cars, fast cars.

drop 24's on it, cut 2/3's of your springs, 2 fart cans angled out the rear corners, HUGE tach and assortment of 100 other useless gauges, crazy retarded graphics and dont forget your side ways cap or visor. bumb some new 50 cent and Sean Paul and do ***** flybys.... trust me.. i wont be giving you the finger for being a *******...

See, thirdgens, in my mind, were always italian related... IROC.. Italian Retards Out Crusing.. which i didnt mind being italian. I never saw anyone "white trash" drive a thirdgen untill a recent trip to etown. Having met a lot of thirdgen owners from NJ, i would say that i have seen a multitude of people driving them. Ive seen everyone drive them. Black, white, female, male, italian, polish, german, rich kids, poor kids, big kids small kids(i will not break out into ryme). I have seen people that if you saw on the street you would say.. where is your civic with the tripple decker wing at... but when you see them next to there thirdgen and talk with them they know a lot more then i think!! Thirdgen drivers are everybody, its a true american sports car.

Now 5.0 drivers... thats another story... along with 4th gen owners. Most of them are stuck up aholes... But i have met more nicer 4th gen guys then 5.0 drivers. I dont know what it is, but 80% of the mustang drivers out there are punks IMO.

It's the whole working on cars thing. I get called a ******* because I like country music, own a thirdgen and watch Nascar ... and I live right outside New York City (Staten Island). As for what IROC stands for - according to friends and family - Italian Retard Out Cruisin'. I get both titles!!!!

Of course, they didn't laught once it came back with the new paint and rims. All of a sudden it became "Wow. Looks great for a 16 year old car".

I have never got called a ******* before. I live in the country and my car is red. There are rednecks out here though. To me, ******* was when a bunch of my friends took a 70's Ford flatbed 4x4 muddin with a load of hay on the back, then they took it to the vard(cruzin spot in the middle of the city) and they powerbraked it and smoked aout a group of ricers tryin to do burnouts.

MasterEvilAce - Removing those stickers wont make you any less ******* as long as that 2nd gen is sitting next to your car.

heh, no offense. I say leave the blackouts though, they look sweet.

And Omni - I doubt people call you ******* because of your car, it is probably because you apparently a white supremist, and obviously a Klan member. Jeeze, dont blame your car!

As for being *******, I get so much crap for my car, since I live in a little rich kid town with honda's, vw's and mitsubishi's ric!ng up and down the road.

We started a GM only parking section in our school parking lot, and once I started parking there I got a little more respect.

I suppose I just need to fix the car more, and smoke the tires a little to get rid of any indignation at all.

Whenever people in work see pic's of my car parked at home, they all ask "Is the trailer parked BEHIND the house?" It's a good thing that I live in Acworth, GA where there is a fair share of TRUE *******-mobiles. Seem to fit right in. My work Cube neighbor swears my car is a Camaro model P.O.S. instead of IROC-Z. So I told her I would get a personalized tag that said MYPOS. I'd rather be a 3rd gen ownin' ******* anyday than a snooty, high class Beemer yuppy, so they can all kiss my ... tailpipe!!

I here that. I have never seen another thirdgen Trans-AM in Dallas that wasn't beat to hell. Except that one turbo TA on Plano Rd. Other than that most of the thirdgens in my area have curb feelers and chrome fender flares and just look like ****.

They are big on the rear hatch louvers. Most of them have a spoler that is broken in half, paint falling all over the place.

Mines not perfect but it's better than 90% that I see.

Thanks

My suggestion is for them to stop smoking crack! LOL

A Third Gen Camaro isn't a ******* car! If anything, it's an 80s GuidoMobile! If it were a pickup truck that was 4 different colors of primer or the General Lee, sure... But not a Camaro!
