tint removal?
The rear hatch of my T/A has limo tint on it, and it's beginning to look like ****. It looks like it was put on at least 6-7 years ago. I need to take this stuff off. How can I do it?

get a new hatch.
no just kidding, try to bring it to a tint shop to see how much they will charge you to take it off. it is NOT FUN to try it yourself. i found a local place to take mine off when i got the car for 30 bucks i think.
they were like "yeah come back in two hours". i came back, and they were sorry they ever said they would do it for 30 bucks....needless to say that dont do that anymore. i had to pick teh car up 2 days later, but it was worth it. that stuff is like impossible to get off.

when i got pulled over for the second time for my tints, Fing cops, they had me tear it off, right there and right then. after i took the tint off i just windex, and maby some goof-off, and a razor blade to get it off. it wasnt that hard, and they were on for about 2 years, i would pay 30$ for something i could do myself, im just that kind of guy. hope this helps, and good luck

man if someone will do it for 30 go for it....... it took me 2 days to get all my tint off. of course that was to make sure the glass was perfect.
i used 3m's adhesive remover, a small blade when needed, and lots of elbow grease!
it will come off it just takes a lot of work and patience.

i just finished take it off the hatch window of my Z. it took me about 4 hours of laying on my back (not the position i like either.. darnit) but it probably saved me 40-50 bucks. i tore off all the old tint and then used windex and a razor blade to get the "goop" off.

Alright, there's a much better way to do this. Go and get a bottle of amonia and some masks. Put the ammonia in a spray bottle, it makes it easier. Also get a black trash bag. Park car in direct sun. Put the ammonia on the tint and then take the black trash bag (cut it and make it like a big sheet) and press it against the glass. Use some tape or something to keep the sack against the glass. This will keep the ammonia on the tint- disolving the glue(that's why they tell you not to use ammonia based cleaners on tint). Wait about an hour and just go out and pull it off. It normally comes off in 1 sheet and no using the blade is necessary.
