So I have been looking high and low for the name of the chrome trim or mold that goes around the actual window. The one I have right now is all rusted.

 

Never seen one in chrome.

Me neither. Sounds like someone sanded the black down to the bare metal.

I simply painted mine, and it came out great. Mine was starting to get a rusty buildup on it, so I taped everything off really well, and got the tape up under the edge at the glass, and sanded down smooth. I used Rustoleum semi-gloss black and a foam tipped brush. If you stick your nose in it, you can barely see brush strokes, but you can't see any just standing beside it. And, if anyone gets that intimate with my car, they won't be seeing anything but stars for a few hours!

 

Mine is nasty, too. I'm going to hit it with some sand paper, prime it, and then paint it black.

 

Its so rusted, I couldn't tell if it was chrome or a different color before. I just assumed. :P

Can I replace it though? does anyone know where to buy one of those?

 

i think it would be a lot harder to replace then it would be to repaint it. dupli-color has some black trim paint out. they used it on the 3rd gen camaro that the tv show horsepower had. it looked good on tv. never tried it myself
