Did I read on here somewhere that 4th gen outside door handles will bolt right up to our cars? Or did I just dream it?

 

Friend of mine did his, but I dunno if it is worth doing, to me.

 

Yes they area direct bolt on. I like it cause its a simple mod.

 

interesting. is there much of a difference in their look? also any advantage; pros, cons? how do you do this?

 

The stock handles have that recessed in the center of the door handle & the 4th gen is all smooth. Its simple, remove door panels, unclip rods connected to tne door handles (becareful you dont break the clips), unbolt handles. Reverse process with new handles.

 

exactly what he said. no modification necessary, 100% direct replacement, slightly smoother look. I plan on doing this too when it comes time to turn my attention to the body (if I ever finish the engine swap). As much as I like the C/K truck handle mods people do, I'm no welder.....

 

Tried this a few years ago.



I promise my paint isn't this bad anymore.
