new interior on classic?

new interior on classic?
I'm still new to this whole "classic car" world. If i get diff seats from another car, is that something that kills the value? I wasn't sure if it was a part that had a vin or something on. My seats have had it

I would guess it depends on what your interests are...keeping it full factory original, or making it as nice as you can. You can just save your original seats and if you ever decide to sell and it's someone looking for original car, you'll still have the seats to throw in.

Never heard a 3rd Gen called a "classic car" before.
Not really "classics" - at least not yet - may even never be. Kinda like music, "classic" will always be 50's and 60's music - it was "classic" in the 70's, and it's still "classic" today, even though by all rights a 'newer' generation of music should have moved up the chain to be "classic" by now, it hasn't.

Never heard a 3rd Gen called a "classic car" before.
Not really "classics" - at least not yet - may even never be. Kinda like music, "classic" will always be 50's and 60's music - it was "classic" in the 70's, and it's still "classic" today, even though by all rights a 'newer' generation of music should have moved up the chain to be "classic" by now, it hasn't.

my 85 iroc is considered an antique.... i live in pgh, pa and went to aaa and called penndot for clarification..
classic: 15 years or older, minor changes... ex. same interior but different color, same with rims... everything has to be original...
antique: 25 years or older, no changes allowed at all, all original...
both require photos or appraisal....
so yes, there are 3rd gen classics and antique, atleast here in pittsburgh, pa

you can get Historic registration and plates on anything 25yrs and older in NJ... so yes 3rd gens now can be called classics here lol
