Re: Friendly Competition For Cleanest Engine Bay!!
Armor all can make a temporary shine, but the plastic must be in good condition for anything to work well. Cleaning to remove oxidation (like you would paint) is great first step. I used normal old 409, and and old tooth brush. When its clean there is a natural shine to clean plastic. Depending if the plastic is dried out after cleaning, I may use a tire shine and let it soak in before treating with Prima Nero vinyl & plastic dressing.
Some of the parts underhood of my 91 have been sanded and painted gloss black too.

Re: Friendly Competition For Cleanest Engine Bay!!
Nope, what you see is all original. The car hasn't seen much inclement weather, so it shouldn't get too bad. The alternator has been replaced since this picture was taken, but the original is still in the shown condition. I plan on rebuilding that one and putting it back on the car. The only difference between the new one on the car and the original is the color of the aluminum. The housing shows a slight yellowing compared to the brilliant silver of the replacement. You can see that slight yellowing in the above pic.

Someone has to post a lowly 2.8 engine bay LOL
My brother rebuild it 10 years to put into a chevette, but it never made it, Had to find a use for it somehow..

Re: Friendly Competition For Cleanest Engine Bay!!

Before the engine burned to the ground(!)... still got the polished manifold, anodized spacers and polished Fiero valve covers in a box. A little blackened with soot, but they will polish up nicely if anyone wants to buy them. Got a 5.7 now, so don't need the V6 parts...
